DMSO - SPORTS INJURIES
DMSO facilitates the healing of almost any type of traumatic injury to the musculoskeletal system – be that a sprain, a strain, bruising, a pulled hamstring or any other soft tissue injury.
When the muscle is worked too hard repeatedly, muscle fibre can be severely damaged or actually destroyed. These injuries can actually make heavy exercise counter-productive in some cases.
There is often a narrow margin between beneficial exercise and exercise that does damage. This is especially true of older athletes, such as those in their 60s or 70s. All the damage listed above can be greatly reduced with DMSO. It is often beneficial to take DMSO just before and shortly after major workouts or competition. If you have specific problem areas, for example the knees, DMSO gell could be applied before and after exercise to reduce inflammation.
DMSO is not a banned substance or listed as a performance enhancing drug and is used by many athletes and sports people to control pain and to reduce down time.
A word of caution – because of DMSO’s ability to reduce pain and swelling, a badly sprained ankle or wrist, or an injured knee should always be checked for fractures. DMSO will not heal the fracture but it will eliminate and heal the trauma to soft tissue surrounding the fracture.
BURSITIS – A debilitating issue, especially in the older athletes or even younger gym rats. Although the shoulder is the most common area for Bursitis, the inflammation could affect any joint that has previously been traumatized.
The standard medical treatments are heat packs, physical therapy and/or injections of a corticosteroid preparation. If these have not worked for you, why not try DMSO – you will not be disappointed! After all, DMSO is THE natural anti-inflammatory product.
